America’s banking lobby is firing back at federal regulators over a stablecoin rule that could reshape how crypto platforms reward customers. With community bankers warning of an $850 billion lending hit, two powerful banking groups are challenging Washington’s approach to digital dollars. The American Bankers Association (ABA) and Independent Community Bankers of America (ICBA) criticized the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC) on Wednesday, Oct. 21, over its final rule implementing the GENIUS Act .
