Obama endorses Jolly in Florida governor race against Donalds

Former President Barack Obama has publicly endorsed David Jolly in the Florida governor race, a significant move in the heated contest. Jolly, a Democrat and former Republican congressman, faces off against Republican Rep. Byron Donalds. The endorsement comes on the heels of support from other Democratic heavyweights such as former President Bill Clinton and House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries. Meanwhile, Donalds has secured endorsements from President Donald Trump and Florida Governor Ron DeSantis. The lack of recent polls or official results leaves the race’s outcome uncertain, but Obama’s endorsement could energize Democratic voters.
