China has rejected a New York Times report alleging that a businesswoman close to Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang was working for Chinese intelligence. Foreign Ministry spokesperson Guo Jiakun called the claims groundless and a smear, state-run Global Times reported on Friday. The Times said US agencies concluded that Alice Huang, also known as Huang Le, a Chinese citizen and senior executive at Singapore data centre firm Megaspeed, passed information to Beijing. President Trump was briefed about a year ago but did not act, partly over concerns about Nvidia’s sales and trade ties with China, according to the report.
