Users rushed to move funds off the exchange once withdrawals resumed following a major security incident. Binance resumed customer withdrawals on November 1 after a pause tied to what The Block described as a record hack. Within ten hours of the reopening, a substantial share of user funds left the exchange. CryptoBriefing reported nearly $3.8 billion withdrawn in that window. The Block separately reported $3.64 billion in net outflows over the same period. The two figures differ slightly, which may reflect different methodologies. Gross withdrawals and net outflows are not always the same number.
