Nasdaq Falls 0.49% Around U.S. Market Open as Dow Holds Steady

U.S. stocks were mixed around the market open Tuesday, with the Nasdaq Composite down 0.49% and the Dow Jones Industrial Average unchanged, leaving the Nasdaq with the largest move among the three major indexes. The S&P 500 slipped 0.15%. Its decline was 0.34 percentage point smaller than the Nasdaq’s, putting two indexes lower while the Dow held steady.
