Nasdaq Falls 0.2% as Treasury’s 10-Year Par Yield Rebounds to 5%

The Nasdaq Composite edged lower Friday as the U.S. Treasury’s 10-year par yield rose four basis points, reversing part of the prior day’s decline in the benchmark rate. The Nasdaq closed at 25,955.34 on Friday, Oct. 23, down 53.52 points, or 0.2%. The Treasury’s 10-year par yield was 5.00% for the day, up from 4.96% Thursday. Thursday’s Nasdaq decline was steeper: The index lost 694 points, or 2.6%, to close at 26,008.86. The 10-year par yield fell 17 basis points from 5.13% Wednesday to 4.96% Thursday, then rose four basis points Friday.
