Nasdaq Composite Rises 1% as Philadelphia Semiconductor Index Gains 2.37%

U.S. equities advanced Tuesday morning, with the Philadelphia Semiconductor Index rising more than the Nasdaq Composite as chip shares led gains in a late-morning snapshot of the broader market. At 11:07 a.m. ET (15:07 UTC) on Oct. 27, the Nasdaq Composite was up 1%. The Philadelphia Semiconductor Index gained 2.37% and stood at 11,346, while the Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 0.08% and the S&P 500 added 0.53%.
