The Nasdaq 100 rose 0.9% to an intraday high Wednesday, while the S&P 500 added 0.3%, putting both U.S. stock indexes in positive territory. The Nasdaq 100’s gain was 0.6 percentage point larger than the S&P 500’s. In proportional terms, the Nasdaq 100’s 0.9% increase was three times the S&P 500’s 0.3% rise. Both indexes advanced in the same market snapshot, but the Nasdaq 100 posted the stronger move. The Nasdaq 100’s session high means it reached its top level of that trading session while recording a 0.9% gain. The S&P 500 also moved higher, with a smaller percentage increase.
