Subscribers hit weekly caps days early after xAI tightened allowances on its always-on AI agent Elon Musk has confirmed what many Grok Bot subscribers already suspected from their dwindling usage meters. The AI agent costs too much to run at the level people were using it. In a reply on X on November 1, 2026, Musk said serving Grok Bot had become “unsustainably high relative to revenue.” The admission explains why weekly usage limits got noticeably tighter. It also landed after a week of loud complaints from paying customers. The tightened limits showed up fast in the user experience.
