Muehlbauer Says QuantumScape Pilot Showed Solid-State Cells Can Scale

Muehlbauer Group CEO Josef Markus Mühlbauer said QuantumScape’s Eagle Line pilot demonstrated that its solid-state battery technology can scale, backing a planned 100-megawatt-hour production line targeted for 2028. “The Eagle Line proved to us that QuantumScape’s solid-state technology is ready to scale to the next level,” Mühlbauer said. Muehlbauer evaluated the Eagle Line’s pilot processes and developed design enhancements. It will supply cell-assembly equipment for the planned line, while engineering for higher-throughput processes and equipment is underway. The facility is planned as QuantumScape’s first commercial-scale cell production line.
