Morgan Stanley Joins DTCC’s $30 Trillion Tokenization Push

Morgan Stanley has converted U.S. stocks and Treasuries into tokens through DTCC’s new tokenization service. The service turns stocks, ETFs and Treasuries held at DTC into blockchain tokens without moving them out of custody. Twenty firms have signed up, and the service starts on Canton and DTCC’s private Besu network. Morgan Stanley still targets early 2027 for tokenized equity support on its own trading venue. Morgan Stanley says it has converted U.S. stocks and Treasuries into tokens through the DTCC Tokenization Service, making it one of the first banks to use the new system.
