Moody’s maintained France’s sovereign credit rating at Aa3 on Oct. 23 and kept the outlook negative. The decision leaves the rating at the same level as the government pursues a 2027 finance bill intended to continue restoring public finances. French Finance Minister Roland Lescure called for the budget to be adopted by year-end and to reduce the deficit to 5%.
