Meta’s higher spending floor puts the combined 2026 capital spending forecasts for four major technology companies at $720 billion to $740 billion, while Microsoft’s lower estimate reflects an accounting adjustment rather than a change to its AI investment plan. Meta set its 2026 range at $135 billion to $145 billion, raising the low end from $130 billion while leaving the high end unchanged. Microsoft’s estimate moved to about $170 billion from $175 billion. An official note tied the revision to accounting treatment and said the company’s AI investment plan remained unchanged from the start of the year.
