Maya Takes Part in Philippine Justice Department’s Scam-Fighting Effort

Maya, a Philippine digital finance platform, has joined a justice department working group charged with coordinating responses to financial-account scams and tracing their proceeds across institutions. The Philippine Department of Justice (DOJ) convened the Technical Working Group on Financial Cybercrime Concerns. Its members include the DOJ Office of Cybercrime, Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP), the Department of Trade and Industry, the National Telecommunications Commission, telecommunications providers and financial institutions. The group is tasked with establishing channels to trace fraudulent funds, coordinate verification between institutions and freeze accounts linked to illicit activity.
