Mastercard Introduces Fraud Screening Before Stablecoin Payments Go On-Chain

TL;DR: Mastercard has launched Stablecoin Security, a risk-scoring tool designed to help financial institutions examine payments before and during their movement across blockchains. Stablecoin transfers can settle quickly. Investigating a suspicious payment before it happens is a much harder task, particularly when the transaction crosses providers, blockchains and traditional banking systems. Mastercard wants to tackle that problem with Stablecoin Security, introduced at Money20/20 in Las Vegas. The product combines conventional payment intelligence with blockchain data so banks and payment companies can assess fraud, sanctions and scam risks across a transfer’s journey.
