Six Malaysian semiconductor designs were presented at AiSEM@Selangor 2026 on Oct. 16 as the country seeks to expand its role in chip design and other higher-value work. Economy Minister Akmal Nasrullah Mohd Nasir put their combined estimated sales potential at RM300 million. He gave no timeframe for reaching that amount. SkyeChip’s MARS1000 is an edge-AI processor for cameras, robots and factory systems. MaiStorage’s aiDAPTIV+ is an AI storage solution for computers and servers, while Silicon X’s field-programmable gate array (FPGA) targets industrial and automotive uses. The other products address control systems.
