Kalshi Confirms Development of U.S. Inflation Futures

Kalshi has confirmed it is developing exchange-traded futures tied to U.S. inflation, with an unconfirmed December 2026 target that would add another way to trade consumer-price changes. The company has not confirmed when trading will begin. The proposed product would track the Consumer Price Index (CPI) and a core measure. Core CPI excludes food and energy, while headline CPI includes both. Kalshi already offers CPI event contracts tied to whether an index crosses a specified threshold. The proposed futures would offer dated exposure to inflation measures. Inflation swaps, by contrast, are privately negotiated over-the-counter derivatives.
