Solar-linked options trading expanded on U.S. midterm Election Day, with the Invesco Solar ETF drawing far more contracts than usual as traders positioned ahead of results and SolarEdge Technologies shares climbed before an earnings report. TAN traded more than 20,000 option contracts by midday Tuesday ET, about 40 times its usual volume. The ETF had averaged fewer than 500 contracts per day over the previous month, and calls accounted for 99% of Tuesday’s activity. The most popular trade involved a December $50 call purchased for $0.80, while $46 and $47 calls also attracted interest for nearer expirations.
