Goldman Sachs, Wells Fargo, and Morgan Stanley are positioning on-chain tokenization as an opportunity to expand trading, payments, and advisory services rather than a threat to traditional banking. Executives outlined the potential during their Q3 2026 earnings calls as financial institutions explore ways to bring securities and other assets on-chain. Goldman Sachs CEO, David Solomon, said tokenization could generate new products, increase trading activity, attract clients, and expand distribution. The bank has also participated in tokenized-asset trading initiatives led by the Depository Trust & Clearing Corporation (DTCC), although Solomon described current activity as limited.
