India’s wind additions could reach 14 gigawatts (GW) a year by 2030, Suzlon Energy Executive Vice Chairman Girish Tanti forecast Oct. 15, more than doubling the calendar 2025 pace. Tanti also expects India to add 8 GW of wind capacity in 2026. His 14 GW figure is an industry forecast for annual additions, not a government target or a projection of total installed capacity. India added 6.3 GW in calendar 2025. A separate tally for fiscal 2025–26 was 6.05 GW, a record for that fiscal year.
