Hyperliquid Trader Adds to Ether Short After $469,000 Liquidation Loss

An unidentified Hyperliquid trader added about 1,126 Ether (ETH) to a short on Oct. 19 after forced closures reduced the position overnight, leaving a roughly $16.2 million bet against the asset. The account went through four groups of partial liquidations, comprising 632 execution fills, between 7:27 p.m. ET Oct. 18 (23:27 UTC) and 3:34 a.m. ET Oct. 19 (07:34 UTC). The closures covered 8,162.845 ETH in short exposure, worth about $19.78 million at execution. The estimated trading loss on those closed contracts was $469,000 before fees and funding.
