The firm behind Hyperliquid's trading strategies is prioritizing regulatory standing in the US even as it posts a record third-quarter profit. Hyperliquid Strategies is seeking registration as a Futures Commission Merchant, or FCM, in the United States. The filing was reported separately by BeInCrypto and crypto.news on November 6. Both outlets also noted the firm's third-quarter profit of $620.6 million. An FCM license is issued and overseen by the Commodity Futures Trading Commission. It permits a firm to solicit and accept orders for futures, options, and certain swaps, while also handling customer funds tied to those trades.
