Saudi Civil Defense has reported that shrapnel fell in the regions of Mecca and Medina after the interception of two ballistic missiles launched by Yemen’s Houthi militia. The missiles were reportedly intercepted by Saudi air defenses, with the stated destinations identified as Taif and Yanbu. This incident comes amidst renewed tensions following a period of relative calm since a UN-mediated truce in 2022. The Houthi-Saudi conflict has seen sporadic escalations, and recent attacks indicate an increase in military activity.
