Houthi-Claimed Saudi Airport Strikes Raise Oil and Crypto Risks

The Houthi movement’s claimed strikes on Saudi airports have disrupted aviation and heightened regional-risk concerns for oil markets and broader risk assets, including crypto. The attacks targeted Riyadh’s King Khalid International Airport and other critical infrastructure, causing operational disruptions and casualties. An attack at the Riyadh airport on Oct. 10 killed 13 people and wounded more than 300. The escalation has increased concern that Saudi Arabia could close its airspace as security threats persist. Any extended disruption to air travel or critical infrastructure would add pressure to the kingdom’s operating costs and economic resilience.
