Schools that opt out of Google's AI tools may now also lose access to Search, according to new reporting. Google has reportedly altered how it offers its Search product to K-12 schools, according to Cryptopolitan and Decrypt. Under the new approach, schools that decline Google's AI tools risk losing access to Search as well. This marks a reversal from a prior policy that allowed districts to separate the two services. Previously, schools could choose to use Google Search in classrooms without adopting the company's artificial intelligence features. That separation gave administrators more control over which tools reached students.
