Goldman Sachs raised its forecast for global data center capacity in 2030 to 273 gigawatts from 217 GW, putting the projected compound annual growth rate at about 21% from roughly 103 GW in 2025. The revised outlook implies about 170 GW of new capacity over that period. Applying an assumed $50 billion in capital spending per gigawatt to those additions yields about $8.5 trillion in potential spending. Goldman Sachs also lifted its U.S. capacity outlook for 2030 to 152 GW from 125 GW.
