Germany’s Sparkasse Bank begins crypto services rollout for 50M customers

Germany’s Sparkasse Bank network has initiated the rollout of cryptocurrency services within its banking app, targeting nearly 50 million customers. The phased implementation, which began on October 19, allows customers of participating banks to engage in crypto transactions involving Bitcoin , Ether, XRP , Solana , and Polygon’s POL. Execution and custody services are managed by DekaBank. However, the rollout is not yet available nationwide, as each local Sparkasse must activate the service individually. About 230 institutions have shown interest in offering this service.
