First Hawaiian Posts $0.52 EPS; Net Interest and Noninterest Income Total $230.2 Million

First Hawaiian’s third-quarter net income fell to $63.73 million from $73.84 million a year earlier, while diluted earnings per share declined to $0.52 for the Honolulu-based bank holding company. For the quarter ended Sept. 30, net interest income was $174.104 million and noninterest income was $56.123 million. Together, those amounts total $230.227 million, or $230.2 million rounded. The two amounts are separate income line items. The provision for credit losses was $20.308 million. It included a $12.5 million partial charge-off tied to one commercial real estate loan, along with downgrades to other commercial real estate loans.
