Fed Schedules Decision as Alphabet, Microsoft Report Earnings Wednesday

The Federal Open Market Committee is scheduled to release its policy decision at 2 p.m. ET Wednesday, Oct. 28 (18:00 UTC), with a news conference set for 2:30 p.m. ET (18:30 UTC). The decision and results from Alphabet and Microsoft were still pending at 9:04 a.m. ET. The Fed’s two-day meeting was scheduled for Oct. 27-28. At its September meeting, policymakers increased the federal funds target by a quarter point, setting the range at 3.75% to 4.00%; the Fed said inflation remained elevated. Alphabet’s third-quarter earnings release is scheduled to come before its 4:30 p.m. ET (20:30 UTC) call.
