European Union energy ministers are set to convene in Luxembourg on Thursday to address the pressing issues of energy supply and price pressures. The meeting comes in the context of ongoing conflicts in the Middle East, including the Iran war, which have been driving up energy costs as the winter heating season approaches. The EU’s Transport, Telecommunications and Energy Council will focus on immediate challenges exacerbated by geopolitical tensions, including those linked to Russia’s actions in Ukraine, while also considering longer-term issues like climate change.
