Ethereum developers postponed Glamsterdam’s Hoodi testnet activation, removing the Oct. 26 slot and planned 200 million gas limit increase as they examine a gas-accounting change’s effect on deployed contracts. The activation had been scheduled alongside the Hoodi limit increase. Ethereum has not set a mainnet date. The earlier Hoodi schedule followed Glamsterdam’s Oct. 6 activation on Sepolia. Developers are investigating how EIP-8037’s changes to state-creation gas accounting interact with smart contracts already deployed on Ethereum’s mainnet. The postponement leaves the next Hoodi test step without a replacement date. Mantle announced Oct.
