Ethereum Founder Vitalik Buterin Details His ‘Paranoid Mode’ AI Agent Setup

Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin has developed a privacy-focused setup for artificial intelligence agents that combines anonymous payments, encrypted network routing, and locally processed prompts, offering a glimpse of how AI services could operate without exposing users’ identities and personal information. In an X post Friday, Buterin described a new “paranoid mode” for his Pi AI agent harness, bringing together the Ethereum-based zkAPI payment system, the Tor anonymity network, random cover traffic, and a locally running large language model (LLM).
