Ethereum Foundation Amplifies Draft for Post-Quantum Key Registry

EIP-8450 is a draft proposal for a public-key registry intended to strengthen Ethereum’s consensus security against quantum-computing threats. The Ethereum Foundation amplified a post announcing the proposal’s first draft. The registry proposal focuses on consensus security. The Foundation’s protocol team is targeting December 2029 for post-quantum resistance across Ethereum’s execution, consensus and data layers, and the Foundation has characterized the schedule as aggressive. EIP-8450 adds to the broader post-quantum effort underway for Ethereum. The December 2029 target applies across all three layers, while this draft focuses on a registry for consensus security.
