Ethereum Draft Would Let EOAs Permanently Disable EIP-7702

A draft Ethereum proposal would let externally owned accounts (EOAs) permanently disable EIP-7702 delegation, limiting future use of smart-contract code while keeping ordinary account functions available. Developer nicolashw submitted the draft Oct. 30. It would place a non-executable marker on an account that prevents later authorizations from adding or clearing delegation. The opt-out cannot be reversed, and the account would retain its address and ability to make ordinary transfers and contract calls. EIP-7702 allows an EOA to run smart-contract code after signing an authorization. The proposed lock would prevent future EIP-7702 authorizations for an account that opts out.
