ECB Sees AI Adoption Driving Europe’s Productivity Growth

The European Central Bank sees faster artificial intelligence adoption as a potential answer to Europe’s weak productivity growth, with rapid adoption capable of raising euro-area productivity over the next decade. Ireland hosted the International AI Summit in Dublin on Oct. 14, 2026, under the theme “Harnessing AI to Revolutionise Europe’s Competitiveness.” The event was organized under Ireland’s 2026 presidency of the Council of the European Union in partnership with the European Commission.
