eBay forecast fourth-quarter gross merchandise volume of $23.7 billion to $24.1 billion after GMV rose 13% in the third quarter, offering a fresh measure of activity on its marketplace. The outlook comes as eBay pursues a previously announced plan to reduce its global workforce by about 9%. The company announced the plan Oct. 20 and set a target to complete the cuts by the end of the first quarter of 2027, as detailed in its global workforce plan . eBay had about 12,300 employees worldwide at the end of 2025, including about 7,200 in the United States.
