David Schwartz Warns of Android Alert Seeking Wallet Recovery Words

An Android notification that seemed to come from SecuX’s wallet app linked Ripple CTO Emeritus David Schwartz to a page requesting wallet recovery words, prompting a warning not to enter them. In an Oct. 16 post, Schwartz said tapping the notice opened the wallet app as expected; later, he located it in Android’s notification history. “The link goes to a scam page that asks you to input your 12/24 words. (NEVER DO THAT!)” Schwartz wrote. A recovery phrase is a set of 12 or 24 words that can restore a wallet on compatible software or hardware.
