Daishin Securities Breach Exposes Data on 38,490 Customers

A cyberattack at Daishin Securities exposed the names, email addresses and mobile phone numbers of 38,490 customers, as South Korea’s financial sector faced separate incidents at crypto exchange Bithumb and Mirae Asset Global Investments on Wednesday. Daishin has notified affected customers, is cooperating with authorities and will compensate for losses as required by law. The cause of the latest incidents remains under investigation. Neither Bithumb nor Mirae Asset Global Investments has confirmed that customer data was taken in its separate cybersecurity incident.
