The Chinese payments giant says it has no partnership enabling digital asset purchases via peer-to-peer services. Alipay has issued a formal denial of reports claiming it supports cryptocurrency trading through third-party platforms. The company, owned by Ant Group, said it has no arrangement allowing users to purchase or trade digital assets through peer-to-peer services linked to its payment system. The statement was aimed at clarifying confusion that had spread across social media and crypto-focused news outlets. Reports had circulated suggesting that certain platforms were using Alipay as a funding rail for crypto purchases, often through peer-to-peer matching services.
