Crypto Shutdowns Leave Users With Different Recovery Routes

Photo: TokenPost
Users facing shutdowns across crypto networks have different paths to recover funds: Minterest contracts remain usable, Immutable X completed an eligible-fund migration, and Polygon zkEVM offers claims only for wallet-held assets. A DeFi interface is a way to interact with smart contracts. Closing the interface does not automatically close those contracts, while a network that stops producing blocks may require users to follow a migration or claims process. The available route depends on where the assets were held and which functions remain open. Minterest took its interface offline at 6:59 p.m. ET on Dec. 19, 2025 (11:59 p.m. UTC).
