French banking group Crédit Mutuel Arkéa confirmed a cyberattack involving fraudulent transactions via a Nov. 4, 2026 announcement, as blockchain investigator ZachXBT traced more than $133 million in suspected stolen funds through cryptocurrency platforms. Investigators believe the operation began with unauthorized traditional banking transfers before the proceeds entered stablecoin laundering networks. The institution says the incident has been contained, customers’ assets remain protected, and its financial stability is not threatened. A French banking giant with nearly $238 billion (€211.5 billion) in assets has found itself at the center of a nine-figure cryptocurrency laundering investigation.
