CoreWeave had $35.6 billion in debt and $5.5 billion in cash and cash equivalents at June 30, putting its AI cloud business at the center of debate over how lenders finance data-center expansion. The company’s revenue backlog stood at $104 billion at quarter-end, and it added $25 billion in new commitments early in the third quarter. CoreWeave also took on an additional $4.2 billion in debt last month. Neoclouds buy costly processors and build data centers, then rent computing capacity to AI developers. The model requires substantial upfront financing and depends on demand for rented computing power.
