Coinbase moves 271.9 million USDC from its institutional arm to its exchange

A nine-figure stablecoin transfer flagged by Whale Alert looks more like internal plumbing than a market signal Coinbase Institutional sent 271.9 million USDC to a Coinbase exchange wallet, according to on-chain tracker Whale Alert. Whale Alert monitors public blockchains for unusually large transactions and posts them in near real time. This one stood out for its size: 271.9 million units of USDC, a dollar-pegged stablecoin issued by Circle. The sender was Coinbase Institutional, the side of the business that serves large clients. The recipient was Coinbase itself, the exchange.
