Coinbase has stated that its own systems were not breached following a security incident at analytics provider Amplitude, which exposed contact data for a small subset of customers. This clarification, posted by Coinbase Support on October 28, follows the circulation of screenshots online that claimed a major Coinbase hack, raising renewed concerns about supply-chain risks for centralized exchanges. Addressing reports of a Coinbase data breach, Coinbase reported that Amplitude experienced an incident affecting contact information for a small subset of its customers and other Amplitude clients.
