Coinbase, one of the largest US-based cryptocurrency exchanges, has clarified that it was not directly affected by a data breach, responding to user concerns circulating on social media about customer data security. The company stated that customer information was not compromised through its own systems. Instead, Coinbase attributed a recent data exposure incident to Amplitude, a third-party analytics vendor. According to Coinbase Support on X, “Coinbase has not had a data breach.” Amplitude reported a security event that affected only a subset of Coinbase customer contact information. The incident also impacted other clients of Amplitude.
