Circle, ACI Worldwide to test USDC settlement in Colombia’s banking system

Circle and ACI Worldwide have announced a USDC settlement proof of concept in Colombia, seeking to demonstrate how financial institutions can use dollar-backed stablecoins within their existing banking and payment operations. Circle and ACI Worldwide announced a USDC settlement proof of concept initially focused on Colombia. The project combines Circle's digital-dollar infrastructure with ACI Connetic's payment orchestration platform. ACI already supplies core technology supporting Colombia's Bre-B instant payments network. The companies have not announced live USDC settlement through Bre-B or identified participating banks. The initiative will examine how stablecoin settlement fits existing banking, treasury and payment workflows.
