China Links AI Plus Drive to Factory Upgrades in New Policy

China's top party and government offices issued a policy linking wider artificial intelligence use to factory upgrades as part of a broader push to modernize manufacturing. The joint document calls for full implementation of the country's “AI Plus” initiative across industries. It also seeks faster development of industrial internet systems, large-scale equipment replacement and the use of digital technology in traditional manufacturing. The policy calls for more intelligent and environmentally sustainable manufacturing, alongside closer integration of the digital and physical economies. It also seeks more research into seed development and farm machinery, plus faster adoption of agricultural technology.
