Chainalysis Hit by Cyberattack Amid Growing Crypto Industry Security Risks

TLDR Blockchain analytics firm Chainalysis has disclosed a cybersecurity breach that exposed certain customer information, raising fresh concerns about data protection across the cryptocurrency industry. Chainalysis has confirmed that an external attacker gained unauthorized access to some of its internal systems and tools, exposing customer information including user IDs, full names, email addresses, and organizational role labels. In a security disclosure published on October 30, the company said its investigation had found no evidence that more sensitive information was compromised. This includes investigation records, authentication credentials, passwords, multifactor authentication secrets, and user session tokens.
