CFTC Chairman Michael Selig is scheduled to discuss digital assets and onchain finance at a Link:NYC event as the agency works on U.S. crypto-market rules. On Oct. 5, the CFTC invited comments on potential rules covering certain retail commodity transactions involving crypto assets. The notice is part of the CFTC’s retail crypto rulemaking . The agency is also weighing a dedicated crypto-market classification for designated contract markets. Selig has directed staff to explore a crypto-market framework under existing agency authority .
