Crypto’s security risks are increasingly extending beyond blockchain protocols to employees, third-party systems and service providers. South Korean exchange, Bithumb, is the latest example after an attacker breached an internal employee mobile system and stole personal information. No cryptocurrency funds were reported lost and the exchange said the compromised system was separate from its trading platform. The incident highlights a growing weakness across the crypto ecosystem where compromised vendors, external integrations, and employee access can expose firms to attacks even when core trading or blockchain infrastructure remains secure.
